Los quehaceres

Or in other words: My list of things to do (or possibly do) in Chile :)

  • Cerro San Cristobol – A huge hill in the middle of the city with a couple swimming pools, a zoo, a couple different gardens, and a sweet view from the top.
  • Go to a mall or two! (and maybe buy some cute clothes:)
  • Centro cultural de Gabriela Mistral – She was chilean and won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1945
  • Cajón de Maipu – There are lot of camping, horse back riding, and hiking opportunities and it’s supposed to be really pretty. I want to do the zipline :)
  • Feria de Santa Lucia – a big flea market think near the really pretty area of santa lucia
  • Museums! They are free on sundays, apparently
  • Run in a race or two
  • Get involved with El Oasis (Christian group) Shouldn’t be too hard. They’re having movies on tuesday nights and meetings on thursdays all this month. And at the end of the month they’re taking a weekend at the beach. It should be fun!
  • Figure out church and how to get there :)
  • Learn how to cook chilean food (maybe get a cookbook here?)
  • Argentina?
  • Mendoza?
  • Buenos Aires?
  • Pomaire one more time
  • La Serena?
  • The field study to the south  where we’ll get to see Chiloe Island, Puerto Montt, Rain forest (Idk what type), a volcano and a lake. Chiloe Island also has a lot of the Mapuche (indigenous) influence which should be really fun.  This will take up the first half of our spring break. The second half I’ll spend getting ahead in homework and checking things off my list and catching up on relaxing. it’ll be fun.
  • There’s a chance I could take portuguese classes :D
  • Punta Arenas
  • Torres del Paine?
  • Valparaiso and Vina del Mar
  • Penguins?
  • Strait of Megellan
  • Southernmost city in the world
  • try chinese food here
  • try peruvian food and all sort of other food
  • have fun
  • pass my classes
  • be fluent in spanish
  • Mail some post cards
  • find special souvenirs for family people :)
  • eat all different kinds of ice cream. it’s really good here. :)
  • and add to my list as I go.

  1. That’s a great list! It’s fun to think about all the things you want to do in a new city, or country in your case. I have a list like that in my head of all the things I still want to do in NYC. Hope you can get to them all! ;)
