(This is a part of 31 days to Focus and Refresh a blog series my mom, sister and I are hosting as we spend 31 minutes a day improving our hearts, homes, and habits in the month of October. We would love your company!)
Welcome to the land of I-was-sick-today and I didn’t do anything of note. I didn’t even read a book. 31 minutes 12 hours of doing nothing. Maybe that is actually an exercise in focus. Anyways. You get randomness I scribbled out yesterday.

Listen here, I tell you.
Listen to the leaves in the trees in the brisk lovely wind.
Listen to the last sounds of summer as they fall to the ground into that season named after them.
Listen to lawn mowers hum through insulated walls.
Listen for jets overhead singing of unseen newness, the glory of sky and space and sun.
Listen for the Jesus whisper in your heart that says, ‘this is good. Catch it. Keep it close. Enjoy my gift to you.’
Listen to the hum of silence.
The baby breath in napping.
The breeze. The leaves. The quiet peaceful rest of time holding you close.
Listen to the space not filled with your own sound.
Listen,
Breathe deep,
And then move on.
That rejuvenating pause fills chasms of void black empty too much.

Currently my husband is making macaroni with Ranger on his hip, giving him an education in water temperature, salt, and cooking. It is so cute :)
Does anyone else have trouble sitting still and letting others serve you?
Yupyup. Happy thursday!
Love you! Feel better soon!
