The horrendousness. This is what I was faced with in my living room this afternoon. Keep in mind we had just gotten home from a trip…though shamefully it often looks similar.
With Ranger figuring out how to get around really well last week while we were gone, when we did finally arrive home I was faced with the necessaity of making things a tad more baby friendly (i.e. cleaner).
So today I made my way through the mayhem and spent 93 minutes giving my living room some much needed TLC – though I don’t think this really could qualify as ‘tender’ and ‘loving’…maybe we better just stick with C. lol.
I restarted my 31 minute timer until Ranger decided it was time to be through.
I think I won today though.
After…. I turned the loveseat so it is now perpendicular to the couch, moved the bikes to a space where they won’t greet you every time you walk in the front entry, rotated the rug 90 degrees to give the room a more put together feel, and organized the heck out of everything else.
Here is the much improved view upon walking in the front entry.
The new solution for the bikes…
My temporary fix for my book problem…shelved between the diapers and the toys on the hearth. Mhmm. :) sometime before the month is out I need to reorganize my bookshelves to allow room for my growing stash… And maybe make a ‘currently reading/want to read soon’ shelf in easy access and sight.
Other items on my list to refresh my living room this month are: curtains for the front window, throw pillows for the couch, dusting, and I might get really ambitious and try to clean my microfiber couches… Has anyone had good luck with that?
What have you been refreshing and focusing these days??

Looks great! It’s amazing what a difference it can make moving one piece of furniture, too. (in addition to the organizing of course). I moved all my furniture about a month ago to get the rug where it “should” be instead of where it was. Makes the whole room better!
