Generous people have more time. That’s the irony: those who sanctify time and who give time away – who treat time as a gift and not as a possession – have time in abundance. Contrariwise, those who guard every minute, resent every interruption, ration every moment, never have enough.
– Mark Buchanan, The Rest of God
It seems like we race and race and never finish what we set out to accomplish each day. There is never enough time. But surprisingly the quote above rings true to me.
A month or two ago I got in a really good habit of reading the bible everyday. I just kept it simple and read a chapter a day. I have since gotten out of that habit, but one of the major things I noticed was that when I started to be more careful about spending that little bit of time in God’s word is that I was able to accomplish much more around the house than I normally managed.
So that is another part of my schedule.
I’m going to be generous with (prioritize) my time with God and my charges. The rest will fit in.
I found the same thing. I need to get back into the habit!
