(My little muppets!)
I have another lovely list of wonderful books today! You can see all of the posts in my Books for the Journey series here! :) So far I’ve done books for recovering perfectionists, fiction, travel/culture/world,pregnancy/birth/babies, parenting, and faith.
Anyway!
On with today!
These books are just super encouraging books for moms. They affirm the mundane, the glorious, the inglorious, and give thoughtful insight for the future.

The Mission of Motherhood: Touching Your Child’s Heart for Eternity by Sally Clarkson
I really appreciate the thoughtful insight on raising children, keeping house, and creating a spiritual, emotional and physical environment that promotes a love of God and of learning. It took me a while to get through this book just because there is s much wisdom there, but it is very much worth reading. I’ll probably even go back and read it again through the years as my kidlets get older.

Desperate: Hope for the Mom Who Needs to Breathe by Sarah Mae and Sally Clarkson
Another by Sally Clarkson along with younger mom Sarah Mae. Excellent read for finding peace and rest and joy at home with your littles all day. Loved it. :) Very similar to the one above, but with more emphasis on staying whole as a mother.

These are next two are lovely reflections on motherhood. Melanie Shankle’s book is more reflective and encouraging with a lot of funny thrown in. Whereas Glennon Doyle Melton’s is just straight hilarious with a lot of insightful reflection on things relating to life, motherhood, and keeping or not keeping house.. My kind of ladies. Both.
If you like to laugh, read them :)
Sparkly Green Earrings: Catching the Light at Every Turn by Melanie Shankle
