Encouragement {Five Minute Friday}

———-
Start:

When we embark on something new we like to know we’re doing the right thing. Or that we’re doing it well.
We like to have a little bit of encouragement.

We like to have just few words to say we’re on the right track.

I get it. I do. I need it too.

But is it possible that some of the things we think we need the most encouragement about are the ones we get the least?

Could it be when the step is the hardest to for us to take and we aren’t getting any encouragement it’s just so we are forced to lean on God?

It’s not necessarily because we’re doing the wrong thing -that direction or conviction needs to come from God – it’s just that some decisions need to be made completely alone. Independent of anyone’s influence besides God’s.

Stop.

    1. Yes, it is. I think maybe life in general is hard. I don’t feel like the growing will stop once we reach any particular stage. I think it’s more a gathering of wisdom than it is a passage from one point to the next. We’re all adults in various stages of maturity. I am an adult already. And so are you.

  1. Great food for thought. I’m reminded of the verses where Paul, after he had his Damascus Rd encounter with Jesus, said he did not confer with flesh and blood. (Gal 1:13-17) I love that. And you are right, sometimes we must yield to what God has for us without the influence or encouragement of others. God wants us to step out in faith, doing it “afraid,” if the case may be. Thanks for this encouragement!

  2. “Could it be when the step is the hardest to for us to take and we aren’t getting any encouragement it’s just so we are forced to lean on God?” this line right here, feels like it was written for me. Thank you for this post!
