“Chill. It’s ok.”
I say this so many times I won’t be too surprised when my two year old starts spouting it right back at me. It’ll probably be cute for a while.
But really. I could use someone to tell me to chill somedays.
Today I feel like I may have won the bad mom award for the number of times I called “no, Ranger!” Over and over again.
For. so. many. things.
I think he decided to test all the boundaries. Or something.
But seriously.
I get all worked up because he pancaked (flattened, you know. I’m verbing here) the baby. Worth getting upset for, but it is kind of hard to turn around from a day of no’s and try to make it positive.
So exhale. That is the word. Today is over. You’re gonna make it. You did fine. Great even. The babes are asleep. No one got mortally wounded.
The 10 month old now takes part in the teasing-screaming game (have you heard of that?) and my! what a shriek she has. But that’s a story for another day.
For now my ears are surrounded with peaceful-ish-ness.
Tomorrow is another day.
Exhale. Free. Let it be.
Exhale.
Chill. It’s ok. And I mean it.

Babes sleeping after being loved, fed and cared for. That definitely goes in the victory column, mama!
Exhale, indeed. Parenting is not for the faint of heart. And sometimes the “no” has to come out in force in order to keep everyone safe. And sane {wink}. Tomorrow is a new day, and God’s mercies will be new, too. And, fortunately for us, he is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. So, no matter how many boundaries your little guy decides to test, God’s walking through all of it with you. So, yes, you can definitely exhale.
So glad to discover your words through FMF and Lisa-Jo :)

Oh thanks you so much for affirming my ‘no’. And for reminding of God’s presence during boundary testing. I think I need to print your comment :)
Hugs and thank you for taking the time to encourage!

Love it! I have to tell myself that over and over (and over and over some days!) Especially since they have started to talk back and argue. Thanks for the reminder!
