Sometimes in the midst of our busy lives we forget that others might enjoy being included in our busyness. Doing things on our own is easier than asking for help. No risks involved. No shortcomings hinted at. No needs to be refused if the answer is no.
I’ve found that part of the answer to our wild restless overwhelmed souls is a willingness to ask for help and to include the people who care about you in the deeper parts of your life, not just the easy surface pieces.
We need to have the freedom to ask. We need to risk our own sense of independence to reach that place of interdependence that leaves us feeling a little more healthy in the end.
We need to grab hold of the love around us and use it as a lifeline in the wildness of our day to day.
I am blogging everyday this October on the theme of Soul Calm. I want to take the dust of the day and sift it through my fingers. I want to see beauty, drink peace, and rest in calm assurance. Let the dust drift away, seen and unseen, beautiful, maybe, but not mine to keep. I hope it blesses you. You can find the collection of Soul Calm posts here:
