Yesterday I shared my favorite non-fiction and since I have such a penchant for non-fiction I divided out the memoirs. Here are my top four!
Night Driving: A Story of Faith in the Dark by Addie Zierman – This one got me. Addie Zierman jumps in her mini-van with her two very young kids and heads out for a roadtrip. Beautiful prose, engaging, deep, the faith journey that begs for a ‘me, too!’, and, oddly, made me want to take a roadtrip.
Bandersnatch: An Invitation to Explore Your Unconventional Soul by Erika Morrison – one of those books that takes forever to read but is completely worth it. Really amazing rolling poetical prose with powerful ideas about self and spirituality.
Coming Clean: A Story of Faith by Seth Haines – A powerful story of truth and addiction that is somehow true for everyone, no matter what your own personal addiction/struggle.
Lab Girl by Hope Jahren – I loved this account of a woman scientist, her hours in the lab, and all the stunts there and on the way. One memorable story of a van in icy Montana is especially unforgettable. Pick it up :)
