Here are four true things, regardless of your gender, but maybe particularly important for women. Sometimes it is easy to feel disqualified or less than as a woman in Christian places since the dominant story has, for a long time, been one where women are not to teach or preach or yadayadayadapatricarchyisbiblicalduh nonsense. But I don’t think that should be a thing. I’m tired of the feeling that just because a man is a man he has a more direct line to God than I do. As Christians through Jesus, we all have the same access and are called just as specifically, no matter who we are.
I want my daughters, and my son, to know these things deep in their bones. And it starts with me learning these things, too.
So.
Four things:
– You are strong in Christ, whether you believe it all the time or not.
– You are fully loved, fully supported, and fully empowered by God who does all things well and created you in His image just as you are,
– You are created in His image, called for His purpose, and equipped for every good thing.
– You are worthy of being heard. You have a voice. You are free.
{From a few days of my 100 Day Project – Notes from the Kind Side: because sometimes you have to reteach the voice in your head.}
That is all! Happy Monday!
