Into – Sept {Whole Together Family 8/31}

I like to keep a monthly, partially because there used to be a linkup, but now I’ve realized I really enjoy having these markers of what we’ve been up to. Even if they are not everything we’ve done it is still fun and helpful for choosing future plans. It helps me to take note of our activities, how they feel in retrospect, and what we might like to do more or less of in the future.

Part of wholeness in a family is dealing with the onslaught of possible activities, expectations, and fun that everyone wants to participate in.

This little can serve to highlight a bit how we don’t do it all, but we all get to do some things. Some together and some alone, but in a way such that we can have enough down time to spend together while still being ourselves in our pursuits.

Anyways. I am totally running out of time for today.

My highlights for september:

L-R: Fall sweater weather!, a temporary resting place for a dresser turned fun temporary porch decor, selfies with kiddos, hot air balloons and hiking, reading 15 books, printing and then thrifting a frame for last year’s picture, a 10k race, crocheting way too many pumpkins made and selling a few (I still have more! Hit me up!).

Here are my books! I’ll post my mini-reviews of each of these next week!

I also completely enjoyed reading and then watching these books and movies. They were all so fun. I’ve come to terms with the fact that books and movies will just be different because the different media requires different storytelling methods. And usually I can completely enjoy both versions. Though I absolutely prefer to read the book first.

So find these and tell me what you thought:

  • The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
  • To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
  • Crazy Rich Asians

The kids have had fun celebrating the girls’ birthdays, going to their STEM club meetings and participating in church activities. Ranger is having a blast in a 10 week robots/coding class at the library (for free, go check out your library!). Ali has upgraded herself to Ranger’s bike and scooter now that she’s five.  Of course she has. And Meg is enjoying being big enough for sunday school finally. I’m enjoying that, too. ha :)

L-R: STEM club, hiking, ladybug invasion, Ali’s upgrade, splash!, balancing the teeter totter, birthday cake!, hikes, birthday mittens.

And of course Israel is up to all the things as always: testing, building, volunteering, scheming new projects, working, etc. Our house feels like a science experiment.

But as of this week, we are stocked up in a variety of fire extinguishers. So it’s all good.

And we get grown-up points.

yay, us!

Anyway!

What were you into last month?
