Don’t sit it out {The Kind Side}

There’s not a “right way.”

I know it’s not earth-shattering, but sometimes you just need to say it.

Sometimes wanting to know you’re doing it right is stopping you from trying in the first place. Say the words and free yourself up from researching, wondering, and stalling because you’re not convinced you’ve got things right yet.

There are endless plans, people, businesses, and experts around who will tell you they’ve figured out the “right” way to do that creative thing you want to do.

And maybe they’ve figured out the right way for them or the right way for them and then a few more.

But.

The best way to think about all those “right ways” that are touted and sold for a dime is as a potential jumping off spot, a few steps of a plan, something to be ditched, added to, or edited freely. Or even just impetus to get yourself off that paused phase that we might also call a netflix binge. (FYI: Gilmore Girls is best rewatched with your finger on the fastforward button to your favorite parts and then skipping sad season 6 and the first half of season 7 – because hello, we only need to live that drama once. Let my netflix binge be your guide. Skip, skip, skip and watch only your favorite characters.)

The netflix binge is when even your denial knows you’ve stalled.

Consider where you’re stuck and just do something.

Don’t stay stuck in the no-man’s land that is waiting for the right way.

Edit as you go along.

Do it their way.

Do it your way.

Do it some way.

You’ll figure it out.

Don’t sit it out.
