Have you heard of Hope*Writers?

After years of standing on the sidelines peering in, I finally joined Hope*Writers because I was ready to admit I wanted to write. It was the right time.

HopeWriters costs $47/month (though there are also annual and lifetime options) which is significant, but as an investment in my personal and professional development, especially in this season as a stay-at-home mom, it’s well worth the money.

I view Hope*Writers as an apprenticeship (instead of a membership) because it’s all about the opportunity to learn alongside other writers and the word implies a sense of time spent learning. Sometimes I choose my own lesson and sometimes I get to look over someone else’s shoulder as they learn. There’s space to experiment, time to be in progress, and knowledge to glean from all of it.

I can’t master or incorporate everything available in the HW library right away, but I can stay in the workshop – practice using the tools, ask questions, eavesdrop on other people’s questions, and make friends who are on the same path.

It’s a commitment, but this long-term apprenticeship is working for me.
